The LumiOrb features a whimsical design that looks like a plant from another world. A central base plugs into a wall outlet and holds three glowing balls. A slider on the bottom of the lamp lets you choose any color across the spectrum, or set the lamp to slowly rotate through all colors for an instant light show. Each glowing ball contains a battery powering an internal LED bulb, providing up to 30 minutes of standalone light. When a ball is placed back onto the base, it begins to recharge. The glow balls are described as having no electronics in them and do not heat up, remaining cool and safe for children to hold. The balls are made from plastic to resist shattering if dropped.
